Turtle Race in Phuket

On Oct 9, the “12th Mai Khao Turtle Fun Run and Mini Marathon 2016” will take place from 4.30-7.30am on a route around Sai Kaew Beach in tambon Tha Chatchai, Phuket, towards Phangnga province.

The race starts and finishes at the Phuket Gateway. The route for the mini marathon is that leading to Sarasin Bridge and Phangnga province and back.

The races consist of the 2.5km family run, 5.3km run and a 10.2km mini marathon. The 1st to 7th place finishers in the 5.3km and 10.2km fun run in the male and female categories will receive trophies and cash prizes. The first 900 registered runners will also receive a running shirt and medal.

The entry fee is 300 baht per person for the 5.3km run and 350 baht per person for mini the marathon and 1,000 per family for the family run. Proceeds will go to the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation for protecting sea turtles that nest on Mai Khao beach and the surrounding areas.
