Trang Islands make Lonely Planet’s annual Top 10 list of Asian hotspots

The always-popular Lonely Planet has released its list of its favorite destinations around the world, including their favored top 10 spots in Asia.

One Thai destination made the list this year: the Trang Islands. Trang came in eighth, with the guide praising the series of islands for perfect tropical weather, white sand beaches and gorgeous coral reefs featuring breath-taking marine life.

They didn’t even suggest spending a long weekend in this island paradise, they said that there was so much to do that a visitor could spend months exploring.

Hokkaido, Japan, nabbed the number one spot for its multi-season beauty and outdoor activities while Shanghai took the silver spot.

Rounding out the list were Jeonju, South Korea; Con Dao Islands, Vietnam; Hong Kong;  Ipoh, Malaysia; Pemuteran, Indonesia; Meghalaya, India and Taitung, Taiwan, reported The Nation.

Well, we’ve just added a bunch of new places to our bucket lists.
