Erawan National Park in Kanchanaburi has beaten defending champion Khao Yai to be the most profitable of all national parks in Thailand. Khao Yai has dominated the Top 20 list for the past thirty years, but was surprisingly beaten this year by the magnificent waterfalls at Erawan. Between October 2014 and July 2015, a total of  76.3 Million Baht was collected in entrance fees at Erawan National Park compared to 74.9 Million Baht at Khao Yai National Park. In the first ten months of the financial year, 662.7 Million Baht has been collected which is 100 Million Baht more than last year. They are now anticipating that by the end of September, more than 800 Million Baht would have been collected from 147 national parks across Thailand, which would be a record for the national parks.
