Thailand to host “World Tourism Day 2016” from 26-29 September

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced that Thailand will be hosting the World Tourism Day event, showcasing the nation’s support for equal accessibility in tourism as well as the rich culture of Thailand’s northeastern region.

The theme will be ‘Tourism for All – Promoting Universal Accessibility’.

The Kingdom will also take this opportunity to promote itself as a tourism destination, as well as the beauty of its northeastern region. Bangkok and Khon Kaen province have been chosen to host World Tourism Day 2016 from September 26th-29th.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over the opening ceremony in Bangkok and give a special speech entitled “Tourism for All: Thailand’s role in the global stage”.

Delegates from 157 countries will then visit the northeastern province of Khon Kaen from 28th – 29th September.
