Thai Airways debuts Bangkok-Tehran flights

BANGKOK, 23 September 2016 (NNT) – Thai Airways has unveiled Bangkok-Tehran flights which will start offering the service to passengers next month.

Thai Airways’ Boeing 777-200 will be flying to Tehran on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and weekends from 1st October onwards. Thai Airways President, Charamporn Jotikasthira commented that the Bangkok-Tehran flights should start making a profit soon after their debut, as the new route has the potential to draw culture-oriented visitors.

Mr. Charamporn said the new Thai Airways service would open up the opportunity for Thai people to explore Iran, a country with one of the world’s oldest civilizations. The Islamic Republic also boasts more than 20 World Heritage sites.

Meanwhile, Anirut Smuthkochorn, former Trade and Culture Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Thailand suggested Thai people planning to visit Iran study Iranian culture and history first, so that they can obtain valuable experience from their trip.
