Free sky train service on New Year

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced free rides on its sky train and rapid bus services on December 31 and January 1.

According to BMA deputy governor Pol Lt Gen Amnuay Nimmano, between noon of December 31 to noon of January 1, people can travel on BTS or sky train service and BRT bus service free of charge.

Besides, he said that during the period, people can also get free boat rides along the route from the Pratunam Phasi Charoen pier to the Phet Kasem 69 pier.

He added that the BMA also cooperated with the private sector and vocational schools to provide free vehicle checks during the New Year period from December 31 to January 4.

He said free vehicle check services will be available on the Larn Kon Muang ground in front of the BMA Office and six main roads out of Bangkok.
