From the beginning of next month until the end of January, sunflowers in Lop Buri and Saraburi will be in full bloom.
The Sunflower Festival in these provinces has become a fix on the tourist calendar as people travel from around the country to enjoy the amazing sight of so many flowers.
The sunflower fields in Lop Buri stretch over 1,400 rai. Of the several fields, two are being promoted by local tourism authorities. The first field is at Ban Hua Dong in Khok Samrong district.
To get there, take Highway 1 (Lop Buri-Khok Samrong), continue for 35km from downtown Lop Buri until the Khok Samrong Intersection. Go straight ahead on Highway 205 toward Chai Badan district for 3km. After turning right on to Rural Road 1013 and passing Ban Manao and Ban Khok Sa-art, you see the fields on both sides of the road.
The second field is called Khun Top Farm in soi 27, in Nong Bua, Phatthana Nikhom district. To get there, take Highway 1 until you pass Saraburi and then Chai Badan-Phetchabun road (Highway 21), and go straight ahead for 21km until reaching an intersection leading to Phatthana Nikhom district. Take Highway 3017, turn right and continue for 17km. You will see a farm on the right side of the road and it is situated only 1km before Pa Sak Dam.
