Wat Pho featured in world’s top 25 landmarks on TripAdvisor

Wat Pho, a first-class royal temple, has ranked 25th in the world’s top 25 landmarks in the Travelers’ Choice 2016 awards by TripAdvisor.

It was announced today that the popular temple in Old Town once again made the list. Wat Pho, or Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is described by TripAdvisor as a place travelers must visit.

“If you miss this temple, you can’t really say you saw Bangkok. Absolutely gorgeous. The reclining Buddha really took my breath away,” the description wrote.

Aside from Bangkok’s world-class attraction, Phuket also ranks 8th on the list of the world’s top islands while its Kata Noi beach was mentioned in the top 25 beaches.

Machu Picchu, Peru, was voted the world’s top landmark, while the best island award went to Maui, Hawaii.
