BANGKOK, 25 August 2016 (NNT) – Passenger count at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport has exceeded the 40 million mark during the past 10 months, with development projects planned to enhance service capacity, says AOT.

Airports of Thailand (AOT) President Nitinai Sirismatthakarn has disclosed that passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport, during October 2015 to July 2016, was over 40 million persons, marking a 5.73 percent increase comparing to the same period last year.

He said the increasing number of passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport has encouraged AOT to accelerate its airport development projects to further accommodate passengers from all over the world.

From this latest figure, passengers using Suvarnabhumi Airport for international flights was recorded at 30 million persons, while 7 million were boarding domestic flights. The airport has facilitated some 300,000 flights, 200,000 of which are international flights and 60,000 are domestic flights.
